Full Brentwood Home Cedar Natural Luxe Mattress Review
The Brentwood Home Cedar Natural Luxe mattress is an organic, luxury hybrid product created from wool, cotton, and Dunlop latex.
With a mix of support and comfort are woven into each layer, sleepers of many different types should enjoy this mattress.
Although it might not be the best choice for couples, it does offer many benefits to individuals including zoned support and a no-chemical design.
Eco-conscious shoppers will love this brand as they plant 3 trees for every Cedar mattress sold!
What Type of Mattress is the Brentwood Cedar Mattress?
Created with all-natural and organic materials, this mattress is a good hybrid latex option that is seen as a step up from the regular Hybrid Latex Brentwood offers.
It utilizes a 5-zone support system with organic latex and wool underneath a hand-tufted outer layer for a durable finish.
As a whole, this is a high-quality organic bed.
How Firm is this Mattress?
The Brentwood Cedar mattress ranks at about a 6.5 on the firmness scale from 1 to 10 (10 being very firm).
While the coils underneath provide suitable support, the top layers of latex and wool create a cushioned feel.
Back sleepers will enjoy the underlying support, while side sleepers will love the pressure relief that is provided by this mattress.
Unfortunately, however, stomach sleepers most likely will not feel supportive enough to keep a sleeper’s hips and spine aligned correctly.
How Many Layers Does it Have?
Like the Brentwood Home Oceano Luxury Hybrid, the Cedar has eight layers of construction.
It utilizes a thin base of coconut husks, and the next layer is the individually wrapped coils.
This layer is 8” tall and provides the support and bounciness of the mattress overall while the base acts to stabilize the coils themselves.
The next layer is 1.5” of organic latex, which acts to target pressure points and allow breathability through the mattress.
Next is some organic cotton batting for more cushion before going on to the 1” wool layer, which is hypoallergenic and provides a flame-retardant area.
On top of that are two whole layers of GOTS organic wool to wick moisture away and regulate temperature.
Finally, the last layer is the cover made of organic cotton.
- Half-inch coconut husk support layer
- 8-inch individually-wrapped support coils
- 1.5 inch articulated & zoned GOLS organic certified latex
- Organic cotton batting
- 1-inch of Alpaca wool
- Two layers of GOTS organic certified wool
- Organic Cotton fiber
- GOTS organic certified cotton cover.
Does the Brentwood Cedar Mattress Sleep Hot?
Dunlop latex is one of the coolest materials a company can use in a mattress.
Combined with natural cotton and wool, the sleeper should not feel hot at all.
Since latex hybrids don’t tend to heat up much, you won’t have to worry about this.
Utilizing cooling sheets should only amplify the effect the mattress can give in terms of temperature regulation.
How is Motion Transfer and Sinkage?
Because the Cedar mattress is a hybrid, along with being a latex mattress, sleepers should expect quite a bit of motion transfer.
For couples, we most likely would not recommend getting this mattress as you are almost guaranteed to have high motion transfer.
On the other hand, sinkage is limited as latex paired with coils is a recipe for firmness.
Does the Brentwood Cedar Mattress Smell When New?
Customers do not tend to notice a smell when unpackaging their Cedar mattress most likely due to its organic composition.
When natural products are being used, it only makes sense that there would not be any chemical smells!
If there is an unpleasant odor at all from the mattress, however, simply letting it sit for a few hours before using should make it dissipate.
Does it Require a Foundation?
There are very few instances where a mattress would not need a foundation.
For the Cedar mattress, we recommend using any type of foundation.
This will help properly support and protect the mattress while you are using it.
Regardless of the foundation you use, the Cedar mattress will last longer if paired with one.

What Type of Cover does it Have?
The Brentwood Cedar mattress cover is made out of New Zealand Wool and organic cotton, making it extremely soft and durable.
The cover is hand-tufted and quilted to the cotton fibers underneath.
Accordingly, we would not recommend trying to replace or remove the cover.
Cleaning should be limited to spot cleaning with simple soap and water.
How Durable is the Cedar Mattress?
There should be no question of durability when it comes to Brentwood Home mattresses.
Because each of them is made with quality products and the Cedar being made of all organic materials, this bed should last.
Latex is also one of the most durable matres materials!
How Much Does the Brentwood Home Cedar Mattress Cost?
The Cedar mattress only comes in three sizes: Queen, King, and California king.
Because of the high cost of using such natural materials, we suspect this is why there are no smaller sizes.
This is the price list as of this review's date:
On top of that, people do have the option of adding an organic latex topper for additional comfort and softness.
Compared to other similar mattress brands that offer organic mattresses, this is a pretty low price point.
Brentwood Home’s Warranty & Trial Period
Brentwood offers a 25-year warranty on the Cedar like its other mattresses.
This warranty can cover any defects during the period.
They also offer a 1-year long sleep trial period, one of the longest in the industry.
The Cedar mattress can also be delivered and set up within your home for an extra fee.
Brentwood Home Cedar Mattress Review – Our Verdict
As an eco-conscious brand, Brentwood Home continues to outdo themselves in mattresses with each one they come out with.
If you want a sustainable mattress made with the highest quality materials possible, this is a nice option.
While this might not be the option for couples, it is certainly a comfortable and supportive option for individual sleepers.
