The DreamFoam Ultimate Dreams Mattress is a great value and offers a variety of firmness levels for the ultimate customized mattress.
It’s constructed of levels of polyfoam and latex and is designed to give you the perfect night’s rest.
This is a ten foot long, queen size mattress that can fit one person or a couple with ease.
The Talalay latex and high density constructed base foam make this an extremely comfortable buy at a great, affordable price.
You could easily spend far more money for a mattress that does a lot less.
If you want a mattress that is just as firm or soft as you want it without spending far too much, the Ultimate Dreams mattress will likely be a good fit for you.
What Type of Mattress is This?
This is a polyfoam mattress with a thick layer of latex built into it for maximum comfort.
It’s designed to give you the best night’s sleep you’ve ever had, and layers its instinctive memory foam with three different levels of material for the ultimate in comfort.
Usually good latex mattresses can be very expensive, but this DreamFoam bed is surprisingly and pleasantly affordable, although the materials used are of the highest quality and everything is made in the USA.
How Firm Is the DreamFoam Mattress?
Perhaps the best part about the DreamFoam Mattress is that you can select how firm the mattress is.
You will get an email that asks you what your desired level of firmness for your mattress is on a scale of 1 to 10.
One is incredibly firm and ten is described as ‘like sleeping on a cloud’.
The levels of 4 and 6 are very popular among customers. Basically, this mattress can be as firm or not firm as you want it to be.
In case of doubt, remember it’s always best to end up with a slightly too firm than a slightly too soft choice, as the former is much easier and cheaper to fix than the latter.
Furthermore, you get to speak over the phone with Chuck, a real human being!
Chuck will help you determine your ideal firmness level based on your past experiences and your current desire. He’s the one actually manufacturing the mattresses, so he knows exactly how to read you.
How is the Ultimate Dreams Latex Mattress Structured?
This mattress has a support layer, comfort layer, and quilting layer:
- The support layer is made out of 2.35 pounds, premium high density polyfoam;
- The comfort layer is made out of three inches of blended Talalay latex, one of the best mattress materials. It’s soft, supportive, and durable;
- Finally, there’s the quilting layer which is designed to soften the latex and is 1.5 inches of soft polyfoam.
The layers are enveloped in a 100% biodegradable bamboo quilted cover, which is softer than cotton.
Does It Provide Good Motion Isolation?
Yes. The high quality foam in this mattress is going to keep motion transmission to a minimum, so if your spouse or partner is rolling around, you shouldn’t be able to feel much.
Also, it may be possible to get the mattress customized so that you have two different firmness levels built in to each side! This is a truly unique feature usually reserved to airbeds with individual controllers.
Will It Get Hot?
No. This mattress has a bamboo fiber cover that is softer than cotton but has the capacity to absorb 4x the moisture and the heat. This means that the mattress will remain cooler than most other foam mattresses.
However, if you decide to put a mattress pad or a topper on it, this feature can’t work anymore and your results might vary.
By the way, if you are a very heaty person who might feel hot with all kind of mattresses, maybe you should have a look at a bed fan, which can literally change your life. We like the BedJet and the New BedFan.
Does The Mattress Smell When New?
There will be a slight smell (called “off-gassing”) when you first get this mattress, but it’s just a typical new mattress smell. This smell will go away after the first few couple days, so you don’t have to worry.
Open your windows and let it air out a little or dust it with a little bit of odor and air freshener and the scent will dissipate without any problems. Memory foam mattresses often have a distinct scent when they are first delivered.
The important thing is that this odor is not toxic. This mattress is certified by CertiPUR-US as a guarantee of its safety.
How Big Is This Dream Foam Mattress?
The exact measures are 79 x 60 x 10 inches. It weighs about 74 lbs, so it’s usually recommended to have two people to carry it around the house.
Once it’s out of the box and its vacuum packaging, the mattress will quickly inflate and it will be impossible to bring it back to a small size. For this reason, you better bring the box in the mattress’ final destination before opening up. It’s also easier to carry.
Does It Need A Foundation Or A Bed Frame?
No. Foam-based mattresses work best on flat surfaces as they include everything you need to feel comfortable.
In case you want to add something, the suggestion is to go with a slatted base bed frame.
Definitely avoid box springs as they will ruin the mattress
Should I Use A Mattress Pad With The Mattress?
Not necessarily. If you feel that you want a little extra cushioning, you might considering adding another layer, but be careful with the material choice in order not to lose the mattress comfort and breathability.
The bamboo cover is truly an achievement in terms of comfort and air circulation.
We strongly suggest you give it a good try before opting for a topper or pad.
How Do I Care For The Mattress?
To keep the foam compression even and avoid permanent indents, we suggest you rotate it once a quarter, or at the very least twice a year. As the layers are in a specific order, this mattress should never be flipped.
As with most mattresses, avoid spilling anything on it or getting it wet.
Do not steam or get this mattress wet or bacteria and mold could grow inside the mattress, although this mattress has inherent antimicrobial properties that should prevent any harmful growth.
In case the mattress gets stained, remove the spot with a mild natural soap and let it dry in open air for as long as it takes.
If you use a hair-dryer to speed up the process, make sure you keep it distant enough not to overheat the fabric or even burn it.
How Long Will The Mattress Last?
This mattress is estimated to last about ten years, although there have been some reviews indicating a lower number for full comfort.
The warranty is for a minimum of 10 years, so we expect the mattress to last for at least that long.
Is There a Comfort Guarantee?
The mattress can be returned in the first 30 days for any reason whatsoever.
When you buy from Amazon.com (see below) they will send a truck to pick up the mattress at no cost. Just make sure you don’t miss the return window of 1 month.
What Is The Warranty For This Mattress?
Depending on the exact model, the limited warranty is between 10 and 20 years and it covers the following:
- Torn handles
- Coils or wires that are loose or broken or rip through the fabric.
- Body indentations of 1-1/2″ or greater.
