Complete EightSleep Pod Pro Mattress Review

The EightSleep Pod Pro Mattress is the perfect choice for anyone who has trouble sleeping due to their temperature.

Using hydro-cooling and heating, users can adjust their mattresses to the ideal temperature.

Dual zoning allows for custom temperature on each side for differing preferences between partners.

Gentle Rise technology uses gentle vibration at chest level to wake you up while gradually cooling or warming the bed to ensure a smooth morning experience with no disruption to your partner.

View of the Eight Sleep Pod Pro from the frontThe EightSleep Pod Pro Mattress uses innovative hydro-cooling and heating technology coupled with 12 inches of premium firmness that gives users the ultimate sleep experience.

Built-in sensors to monitor sleep habits and to adjust temperature and firmness in response to how your body acts throughout the night.

This is a great choice for anybody who wants a slightly thicker and plusher option than the Original Pod.

In this model, we see the same great temperature control features and the mobile app with health checks that made the original so popular.

How Firm is this Mattress?

The Pod Pro offers a five-layer, 12-inch premium foam mattress, for the ideal support in all the right places. Designed to be comfortable for most people at a medium firmness.

The EightSleep Pod Pro comes in at a 6 out of 10 on the firmness scale.

This makes it a lot softer than many other beds.

How Many Layers Does it Have?

The EightSleep Pod Pro Mattress comes with 5-layers of foam ideal for medium firmness and contouring support.

4”-Durable Premium Base: Thick layer of support that absorbs movement while still providing a natural bounce feel.

4”-FlexSpring Technology Core: Uniquely responsive featuring enhanced cradling performance and high support.

Does the EightSleep Pod Pro Sleep Hot?

The EightSleep Pod Pro’s hydro-cooling technology can heat and cool each side of the bed from 55 to 110 degrees Fahrenheit — keeping you at a comfortable temperature all night With Smart Temp

The EightSleep Pod Pro features multiple embedded sensors that monitor whether you have fallen asleep or woken up. It also features new environmental sensors, measuring room temperature, humidity, and local weather to react intelligently.

With its Smart Temp technology, the EightSleep Pod Pro continuously and automatically adjusts the temperature of each bedside based on signals from your body and environment.

How is Motion Transfer and Sinkage?

The EightSleep Pod Pro is designed with four layers of high density and responsive foam, with improved rebounding 1” premium foam topper under an active grid, at 12″ thick.

This ensures reduced movement transference, less bounce, and support while providing the hug feeling of foam.

Does the EightSleep Pod ProSmell When New?

You can use the mattress immediately! While it may take a couple of days for your mattress to adapt to your body, you will still be able to sleep on it after setting it up without any compromise in comfort.

For the best experience, we suggest allowing 24 hours for the foam mattress to fully form. If you perceive any faint odors or smells after opening, it should dissipate within a few hours.

Zipper closing up the mattressDoes it Require a Foundation?

The Pod Pro is best placed on a breathable box spring or slatted base.

However, it is not compatible with an adjustable base as it requires no kinks in the mat to ensure seamless water flow for the temperature functionality.

If your foundation has slats, be sure there are no gaps wider than 3” between the supporting beams/slats of your foundation.

The floor or solid wood foundation (without slats) can work also, but it may not provide enough breathability for the foam.

What Type of Cover does it Have?

The EightSleep Pod Pro comes with the active grid cover with a comfortable blend.

Water flows from the Hub to this thin and contouring layer to keep you at your ideal temperature.

It also includes the sensors that track your biometrics and an integrated layer of foam for superior comfort.

How Durable is the EightSleep Pod Pro?

The EightSleep Pod Pro is manufactured with high quality, high-density memory foam making the mattress extremely durable.

We expect this mattress to last at least the length of the 10-year limited warranty.

However, many people might only get good use out of it for 5 – 7 years.

Since there is a nice warranty and trial period, though, you can test it out fully before deciding if this is the best option for your need.
