Complete Tempur-Cloud Mattress Review

The Tempur-Cloud mattress is a good option for anybody with back pain or simply in need of pressure relief and comfort.

This mattress has enough sinkage to provide good comfort at the cost of extra heat transfer.

Limited motion transfer makes this a wonderful option for couples as well!

The Tempur-Cloud offers multiple layers of comfortable foam to enhance the cushiony feel while providing excellent pressure relief simultaneously.

What Type of Mattress is the Tempur-Cloud Mattress?

View of the Tempur-Cloud mattress from an angleThe Tempur-Cloud mattress stands out for having three layers of support and memory foam to help provide optimum comfort.

The Tempur-Cloud is extremely comfortable and pulls sleepers into the layers of soft foam.

The cover is durable and breathable, helping maintain a somewhat cool temperature for its users.

The Tempur-Cloud is the brand’s distinct “soft” mattress, while the Tempur-Adapt is more moderate and the Tempur-Breeze has varying levels to choose from.

How Firm is this Mattress?

The Tempur-Cloud is probably the softest option the Tempur brand provides, and we would rate it at about a 4.5 on a scale of 1 to 10 (10 View of the Tempur-Cloud mattress firmnessbeing very firm).

Compared to other luxury mattresses we have reviewed; this is pretty soft.

The amount of foam utilized in its construction can explain the plushy feel, along with its premium, stretchy cover.

How Many Layers Does it Have?

The Tempur-Cloud has four layers, starting with its base layer made up of premium foam.

Next is a support layer that conforms to your body and relieves pressure from pain points.

The third layer is a cushiony comfort layer that allows you to sink in when laying down.

At the very top is a breathable cover that is moisture-wicking and allows air to flow through.

In summary:

  2. Tempur® Support Layer
  3. Tempur® Comfort Layer
  4. 360° Moisture Wicking Strech Cover

Does the Tempur-Cloud Mattress Sleep Hot?

We do not see anywhere near the amount of cooling technology in the Tempur-Cloud as we do in the Tempur-Breeze,View of the Tempur-Cloud mattress setup

However, there are still some features that work to keep the sleeper cool.

This mattress’ main focus is comfort, so we are not surprised that it will retain some heat (especially since it’s made of dense foam).

If you are someone looking for a specifically formulated option for overheating, the Tempur-Cloud probably is not the choice to make.

How is Motion Transfer and Sinkage?

As a memory foam mattress, the Tempur-Cloud will limit motion transfer and be a good option for couples.

Additionally, the edge support is good on this mattress and a bonus for couples.

However, because the mattress does not have a coil layer, there is not much lift to be found within the mattress.

This can make sleepers feel like they are sinking into the mattress instead of being supported.

Does the Tempur-Cloud Mattress Smell When New?

View of the Tempur-Cloud mattress from the sideMost delivered mattresses are wrapped in multiple layers of plastic and decompresses, where the Tempur-Cloud is simply rolled up and placed in the canvas bag.

Because of this, many people find that there is no new mattress smell.

However, if you do receive a new mattress smell, know that it will dissipate within a week or so!

Does it Require a Foundation?

Like other Tempur-Pedic mattresses, the Tempur-Cloud is recommended to have some sort of foundation.

However, Tempur-Pedic says that box springs and any slat foundations should not be used, as they will void the warranty on the mattress itself.

If you are looking to one-stop-shop, Tempur does offer foundation options to choose from on their website.

What Type of Cover does it Have?

The Tempur-Cloud cover is made from a moisture-wicking, stretchy material that allows for breathability.

This adds to the airflow factor for people that like to sleep a little cooler, although it is not specially formulated for overheaters.

What is nice about the moisture-wicking tech is that you can sleep hot without ending up in a pool of sweat.

How Durable is the Tempur-Cloud Mattress?

Tempur mattresses are seen as pretty durable, and they are designed to survive around 7 to 10 years.

Although the Tempur-Cloud mattress is much cheaper than its big brother, Tempur-Breeze, it does not seem to last quite as long as we would like for the luxury price.

However, how the mattress is taken care of will always impact how long it will last.

We would recommend closely following the instructions on how to properly care for your mattress to ensure your investment in this mattress is not unnecessarily wasted.

Warranty & Trial Period of the Tempur-Cloud Mattress

Like other mattresses that the Tempur-Pedic brand has, this model comes with a 10-year limited warranty.

In addition, this model has a 90-night trial where you can return it.

If you do return it, though, you will have to pay shipping charges.

However, when a Tempur-Cloud mattress is purchased, you receive free shipping.

How Much Does the Tempur-Cloud Mattress Cost?

As we’ve mentioned, the Tempur-Cloud is one of the cheaper options that Tempur offers

It is offered in sizes ranging from twin to California king and focuses on fast, free shipping.

As we write, these are the best available prices:

Instead of coming in a box like most deliverable mattresses, the Tempur-Cloud comes in a reusable canvas bag and is placed right on your doorstep.

The downside to this is that there is no white-glove delivery like the other Tempur mattresses, and the Tempur-Cloud can be quite heavy.
