If you want to get the most popular and, in our opinion, the best Brentwood Home mattress you should check out the Oceano Luxury Hybrid mattress!

Cost-wise, the Oceano is fairly inexpensive in comparison to other types of similar mattresses.

With 8 layers of well thought out construction, we believe it would be hard for someone to find a much better hybrid mattress.

However, Brentwood Home also offers many other types of mattresses, including the Hybrid Latex, Cedar, Cypress Memory Foam, and Crystal Cove.

What Type of Mattress is the Brentwood Oceano Mattress?

The Brentwood Home Oceano Luxury Hybrid mattress with a happy couple

The eco-friendly luxury Oceano mattress is a luxury hybrid mattress made with GOTS certified organic cotton and wool.

It contains around 3,163 coils with zoned support, memory foam, and a plant-based cover.

Brentwood’s Oceano mattress is its best-selling option that combines breathability and comfort with natural materials.

If you want the best and most popular mattress from Brentwood, give this one a shot.

How Firm is this Mattress?

While firmness is pretty subjective depending on the person laying on a mattress, we have rated the Oceano mattress at about a 7 on the scale from 1 to 10 (10 being very firm).

While the coils help to provide a bit of bounce and support to keep sleepers from collapsing too far into the mattress, the pillow top allows just the right amount of comfort to balance out the firmness.

Although, back, side, and combo sleepers should find a fairly good match in the Oceano.

How Many Layers Does it Have?

The Oceano mattress has an incredibly-complex 8 layers with a plant-based cover on top.

First, it starts with an organic cotton base covered in 1” of high-density foam.

The next layer includes the majority of the support felt throughout the mattress, with 5 zoned support areas of recycled steel coils.

Next, we have a breathable foam to soften the thousands of supportive coils underneath.

On top of that is another layer of coils, although this round is a bit shorter and contains fewer pieces.

Each of the coils are individually wrapped for the best performance possible.

The next layer contains a cooling memory foam mixed with BioFoam to create a wonderful cooling layer.

Built on top of that is a layer of poly-silk to add a luxurious, premium comfort level to the mattress.

Lastly, a layer of GOTS organic wool is left underneath the cover for optimum breathability and temperature regulation.

In summary:The mattress layers

  1. Organic cotton canvas base.
  2. Premium base support foam.
  3. 1,441 support coils.
  4. Aire Luxe foam.
  5. 1,722 comfort coils.
  6. Cooling memory foam.
  7. Luxurious natural poly-silk fiber.
  8. GOTS organic certified wool.

Does the Brentwood Oceano Luxury Hybrid Mattress Sleep Hot?

While the Oceano mattress is not specifically geared towards keeping a sleeper cool, it does have some breathability.

With naturally airy materials and coils, anyone that sleeps on the Oceano probably will not overheat.

However, if you are someone that struggles with temperature regulation at night, you might consider checking out the Cypress Memory Foam or Hybrid Latex mattresses.

How is Motion Transfer and Sinkage?

Although the Oceano mattress is a hybrid, it does have a balance of some memory foam layers.

When checking out motion transfer, the Oceano mattress does an above-average job of minimizing the impact a partner would have on the sleep of the other person.

While people will lower comfortably onto the mattress, the two layers of coils should keep them from sinking too far as well.

Many people are worried about getting their boxed mattresses, only to find that the off-gassing is too much to bear.

However, with the Brentwood Oceano mattress, this is not usually an issue.

With its many natural products and few chemicals (if any), there is not usually smell when first unpackaging!

If there is, it typically goes away after a few hours left on its own.

Does it Require a Foundation?

You should always consider getting a foundation.

With the Brentwood Oceano, this is not an exception.

By providing a sturdy foundation to set the mattress on, you can extend the life of your mattress for quite some time.

We also recommend using a closely slatted base or platform bed.

Brentwood does offer some foundation and base options at checkout, though!

What Type of Cover does it Have?

The Oceano mattress provides a Tencel blended cover, which is plant-based and eco-friendly.

Additionally, the fabric is incredibly soft, airy, and luxurious.

Best of all, the USDA certified material in this mattress has received a European award for its low impact on the environment.

How Durable is the Brentwood Oceano Mattress?

It’s worth noting that memory foam layers tend to break down before other materials.

We estimate that the materials in this the Oceano mattress will make it last for at least 7 years.

The mattress itself has a sturdy construction and combined with the warranty should anything be defective, we believe it to be a good investment in the long term.

How Much Does the Brentwood Home Oceano Mattress Cost?

Compared to similar hybrid mattresses, the Oceano is fairly priced.

The lowest prices we could find when writing this review are the following:

  • Twin: $995
  • Twin XL: $1,195
  • Full: $1,295
  • Queen: $1,495
  • King: $1,995
  • Cal King: $1,995
  • Split King: $2,390

Additionally, those looking for a hybrid mattress that is flippable and slightly cheaper might try the Crystal Cove mattress instead.

Warranty & Trial Period of the Brentwood Oceano Mattress

A lady setting the sheets on the Brentwood Oceano

Brentwood Home offers a 25-year warranty on their mattresses to cover any defects that might show up.

They also offer an extended 1-year long sleep trial period, which is enough time for customers to decide whether the mattress is a fit for them.

Additionally, many customers will love knowing that they are supporting a mattress that was made right here in the United States.

They offer financing options and in-home delivery availability in certain areas.

Brentwood Oceano Mattress Review – Our Verdict

The Oceano mattress is well-engineered, with 8 layers in the design.

It seems that they tried to incorporate a little bit of everything for the best overall comfort and support for a wide range of different types of sleepers to enjoy.

Being a GOTS and GOLS organic certified factory is a big plus (not to mention hard to achieve).

These certifications make it great for eco-conscious shoppers.

In addition, we expect many parents to enjoy this mattress due to its few chemicals and largely natural construction.
