The Leesa Legend mattress is a great choice for anybody seeking a hybrid mattress that combines a high-level of comfort with enough support to keep you sleeping on top fo the mattress.

This mattress comes with a dual-hybrid pocket spring system and several layers of foam that work to keep this mattress both reasonably-firm and cool to sleep on.

Made of recyclable materials, that are hypoallergenic, this is the dream of many mattress shoppers who want an eco-friendly mattress.

However, it may be a little too expensive to suit the needs of certain shoppers.

What Type of Mattress is the Leesa Legend Mattress?

Some of the leesa legend mattress key features This is a hybrid mattress that contains both a coil system along with memory foam.

These two products work nicely together to provide both support and comfort.

Memory foam mattresses tend to be great for those who want to sink into the bed.

Coil mattresses, on the other hand, work best for those who want enough support to sleep on the top of their mattress.

Therefore, this mattress is great for those who want the best of both worlds. Best of all, this mattress is made of recycled materials that are hypoallergenic.

The Special Leesa Legend Mattress Cover

This mattress would be much like the Leesa Hybrid Mattress or the Leesa Original if it weren’t for the special Leesa Legend mattress cover.

This mattress cover is made of recycled materials. These organic cotton and merino wool. This is part of the reason this mattress is seen to be eco-friendly.

Best of all, the mattress is completely hypoallergenic.

Since the cover isn’t removable, though, you will need to cover it separately with sheets in order to best protect it.

How Firm is this Mattress?

The mattress layers

Since there is a generous portion of memory foam included inside this mattress, you shouldn’t expect it to be entirely firm.

Especially compared to coil mattresses.

However, this mattress does contain spring coils on all portions of the interior of the mattress.

This helps provide a medium level of firmness.

The memory foam and micro coil system help give this mattress a nice balance of comfort and firmness.

This is a great mattress for anybody who is already comfortable using hybrid mattresses.

How Many Layers Does it Have?

This mattress is a hybrid mattress with multiple different layers of both foam and spring coils. Right on the uppermost layer lies the Legend Cover.

Below the cover, we have a comfort foam layer.

Immediately below the first layer of foam is the additional layer of memory foam that is designed to relieve pressure on your back, shoulders, and hips.

Finally, below the layers of foam, we find two layers of coils.

The first relief and stability layer has micro springs that stretch across all corners of the matters.

The bottom layer has the thickest coils with enough power to provide some firmness.

Here is a more in-depth look at the layers of the Leesa Legend Mattress:

  2. Comfort Foam Layer
  3. Memory Foam Recovery Layer
  4. Relief & Stability Layer
  5. Quick Response Pocket Spring Base

Does the Leesa Legend Mattress Sleep Hot?

This mattress has a little bit more breathability and coolness features since it is a hybrid mattress.

However, since there is memory foam placed on the top highest layers, you should expect to sink into the mattress a little bit.

In other words, this mattress does have the tendency to be a little hot. Especially in hotter climates.

However, due to the two layers of coils, the mattress also does have built-in sinkage defenses.

This will help you avoid sinking too much into the mattress and provide more breathability.

How is Motion Transfer and Sinkage?

This mattress doesn’t really excel in its protection for either motion transfer or sinkage. Both of these features are pretty average.View of the legend in a room

For example, there are two layers of coils that make up the bottom layers of this mattress.

Coils are widely known for providing higher levels of motion transfer.

In addition, there are two layers of foam placed directly on the top of the mattress.

These layers of foam make it so that you will sink a moderate level into the mattress.

Does it Have any Smell?

The cover of this mattress that is made of organic cotton and merino wool help provide it with a pleasant and natural smell.

Typically, there is not a strong chemical smell out of the box.

However, there have been certain reports from customers who complain of a chemical smell.

In reality, there is always a smell that you should expect from just about any new mattress.

Simply wait a week or so and the Leesa Legend mattress will not have any sort of chemical smell.

Does it Require a Foundation?

Getting a premium mattress like this one is almost universally best done when you have a proper foundation to use it with.

The beauty of a high-quality hybrid mattress like this one is that you have the choice to use any sort of foundation that you desire. Even if you choose none at all.

In order to make the most out of your mattress, we suggest getting an adjustable base like the IDLE Sleep Adjustable Base.

What Type of Cover does it Have?

The cover of the Leesa Legend is one of the most relevant specifications to be aware of.

It is a completely hypoallergenic cover made of recycled materials.

Made of organic cotton and merino wool, the cover has a soft and comfortable feel to it.

It also helps produce a natural smell that is pleasing to lay down on.

However, it is worth noting that this mattress cover is not removable.

Therefore, it is suggested to use a separate cover on top in order to keep it best protected from stains.

Leesa Legend Mattress Review – Our Verdict

The Leesa Legend mattress has a dual-hybrid pocket spring system that contains two layers of foam and two layers of coils.

This is a great choice for those who want a high-quality hybrid mattress and have the extra money to invest.

To be clear, this is a little pricier than some other hybrid mattresses, but it also comes with the benefit of a perfect balance between firmness and plush comfort.

Therefore, this mattress is well worth the extra cost if you want an eco-friendly hybrid mattress made of recycled materials.
