If you want the coolest mattress in the Tempur-Pedic line, the Tempur-Breeze is the best option to look at.

This mattress stands out for having technology geared for making this cooler than most other all-foam beds.

There is also a hybrid version of the Tempur-Breeze.

Those with higher budgets and wanting the coolest mattress Tempur-Pedic can provide tend to like this model the most.

Those who want to explore similar options should also check out the Tempur-Cloud, and the Tempur-Adapt.

What Type of Mattress is the Tempur-Breeze Mattress?

Tempur-pedic brand art

The Tempur-Breeze comes with multiple different options: medium PROBreeze, medium hybrid PROBreeze, firm LUXEBreeze, and soft LUXEBreeze.

These each stand out for unique features like an included coil system, all-foam design, and so on.

Hybrid models in the Tempur-Breeze help you sleep on the top of the bed, add extra firmness, but also at the cost of higher motion transfer.

The Tempur-Breeze offers unique features like good support, motion isolation, and pain relief for back and neck pain in their various models Breeze models.

How Firm is this Mattress?

The firmness of the mattress depends on which option a user selects.

The LUXEBreeze will be firm, the soft LUXEBreeze will be softer, and so on.

In summary, the firmness level of these mattresses really depends on which one you select.

How Many Layers Does it Have?

There are different designs for this mattress.

Accordingly, let’s break down the noteworthy differences between the layers for each.

PRObreezeView of the tempur-breeze mattress layers

First, let us take a look at the PRObreeze construction, which is supposed to keep sleepers 3 degrees cooler.

The only difference between the regular and the hybrid is that the hybrid has built-in coils in the base layer instead of a 2x as a thick layer of foam.

From there, they are the same: the next layer is a comfort foam, with a breathable layer on top of it.

On top of that is a type of material that can adapt to a sleeper’s temperature and release heat while freezing to keep the sleeper cool.

The very last, top layer is the machine-washable cover created from “SmartClimate” materials, another cooling technology.

LUXEbreeze

On the other hand, the soft and firm LUXEbreeze is supposed to keep sleepers 8 degrees cooler and options are made of the same construction.

The main differences are the firmness levels we find in the mattresses.

They start with a dense foam at the base, cut for airflow specifically.

Built on top of that is a thick transition layer with built-in airflow holes.

Next up is a comfort layer that allows for breathability and the heat to escape, with a phase-change layer on top to adapt to temperature and maintain coolness.

The last, top layer is two layers of the same “SmartClimate” technology as the PRObreeze has.

Does the Tempur-Breeze Mattress Sleep Hot?

This mattress has multiple technologies within the incredibly complex layers to keep a sleeper cool at night.

Even though it is made out of memory foam which tends to hold heat in, the scientists behind Tempur-Breeze have outdone themselves in combating this.

Out of the other mattresses we have reviewed, this is the most innovative and dedicated mattress to maintaining coolness at night, especially with its “SmartClimate” layers.

Hybrid versions of this model are also much cooler.

This is a good option for anyone that overheats.

How is Motion Transfer and Sinkage?

View of the tempur-breeze mattress from the front

Because the Tempur-Breeze is usually made from just memory foam, you can expect very little motion transfer.

This is a huge plus for couples that are on different sleeping patterns or for someone that tosses and turns all night.

However, there are also hybrid versions of this mattress.

Hybrid mattresses have a coil system that will produce more motion transfer.

Does the Tempur-Breeze Mattress Smell When New?

The Tempur-Breeze has white glove delivery, unlike the Tempur-Cloud that is delivered to your doorstep.

With this service, you never have to lift a finger to get it on your frame and ready for use.

When you receive the mattress you may notice a slight chemical smell.

Don’t worry, though, this will usually go away within a week or so.

Does it Require a Foundation?

Tempur-Pedic does recommend that each of its mattresses is supported with a foundation – and they sell them as well.

Their mattresses are not meant to be placed on box springs or any slat foundations (doing so will void the warranty).

However, you can also get the freedom of using adjustable bases if you get a mattress like this.

What Type of Cover does it Have?

The cover, unlike many others we have reviewed, is machine-washable on the Tempur-Breeze.

This cover is made up of a “SmartClimate” dual system designed to make the sleeper instantly cool.

Warranty & Trial Period of the Tempur-ADAPT Mattress

For this mattress, Tempur offers a 10-year limited warranty.

Additionally, sleepers are given a 90-day trial period where they can ship back the mattress if they decide they don’t like it.

However, you will have to pay return shipping.

How Durable is the Tempur-Breeze Mattress?

View of the tempur-breeze mattress with a dog on it

Based on the durability of the materials used, the Tempur-Breeze should last the past 10 years.

This is especially considering the warranty period.

Manufacturers only give features like 10-year warranties and 90-night trials if they are confident in the durability of the product.

How Much Does the Tempur-Breeze Mattress Cost?

We won’t lie, Tempur-Pedic mattresses are not cheap – and the Tempur-Breeze is no exception.

Here are the current Tempur-Pedic mattress prices, and as you can see you can get a great discount of $300 by applying our exclusive coupon code TED300:

Twin XL:$3,899$3,599

Split King:$7,798$7,498
Split Cal King:$7,798$7,498

(Prices are for the LUXEbreeze version – the PRObreeze version is cheaper!)

This mattress is unique from various others in that they offer Split King, California King, and Split California King sizes.

This brand is one of the most expensive brands we have ever reviewed, although they do offer payment plans like many of the other mattresses.

Tempur-Breeze Mattress Review – Our Verdict

All in all, Tempur-Breeze is a good mattress for many different types of sleepers.

Each of the different customization options helps suit the needs of various sleeping positions.

They also offer hybrid models, different firmness levels, and so on.

Each is specially formulated for the comfort, support, and especially the coolness of their sleepers.

If you are still unsure which Tempur-Pedic mattress is best, check out the Tempur-Cloud, and the Tempur-Adapt.
