For a lot of us, Amazon is our go-to place to find just about anything we might need.

It’s fast, cheap, and easy-to-use, and it offers a huge variety of products to choose from.

The only thing is, though, it’s often all too easy to get overwhelmed by the sheer number of options out there today.

Which mattress is actually right for you?

In this sea of options and clever marketing, how can you possibly decide on just one product?

We know the feeling, and that’s exactly why we’re here to help.

Check out this complete guide to the best Amazon mattresses of 2019, and shop for your next product with the confidence you need!

What Kind of Mattress Do You Need?

Alright, now before we get too far ahead of ourselves here, let’s first take a minute or two to get to the basics of mattress shopping.

There are three main kinds of mattresses on the market today, each with their own advantages and disadvantages.

Innerspring Mattresses

The most popular of these is the classic innerspring mattress.

Composed of a sturdy coil support core under several inches of comfort layers, innersprings are generally pretty easy to get around on and come with a distinctive bouncy feel.

The downside to this kind of mattress is that it generally tends to be less durable than other varieties, and it also lacks some of their added perks.

Memory Foam Mattresses

After innersprings, we have memory foam mattresses.

These are entirely made up of a supportive padding that conforms to the shape of your body.

This allows for greatly enhanced comfort and support, making these mattresses ideal for individuals suffering from back pain.

Quality memory foam mattresses also tend to last a little longer than innersprings, and they have enhanced motion isolation – so if you’re sleeping with a restless partner, they’ll be less likely to wake you up.

Some people may not appreciate the sinking feeling that can come with lying on a memory foam mattress, however.

Memory foam in general also tends to have pretty poor ventilation, so you might find yourself sleeping hot if you don’t get the right kind!

Latex Mattresses

Finally, we come to latex mattresses.

These come with many of the same advantages of memory foam, only they tend to sleep cooler and be slightly bouncier, avoiding foam’s “sinking feeling.”

And if you invest in a 100% natural latex mattress, you’ll get the added bonus of being much more environmentally friendly in you purchasing decisions.

100% natural latex mattresses are made entirely from the sap of the rubber tree, so you avoid any of the non-biodegradable and potentially harmful synthetic materials that make up most mattresses.

How to Pick the Right Mattress

Although is no one-size-fits-all guide to figuri

ng out the single best mattress, there are basically seven different factors you’ll want to take into account: size, durability, airflow, motion isolation, warranty, and price.

Ideally, you’ll want a mattress that ranks well in all these criteria.

Just because there are a lot of things to take into account, though, that doesn’t necessarily mean you have to resign yourself to a tradeoff.

There are actually a couple products out there that can bring you the

best of all possible worlds!

The Best Amazon Mattresses

Alright, the wait is over!

Here they are…

The absolute best Amazon mattresses of 2018!

  • Tuft & Needle – top quality product from an established brand
  • Nectar Sleep – one of our highest-rated mattresses
  • Layla – copper-enhanced memory foam technology
  • Dreamfoam Bedding Arctic Dreams – a real bargain purchase

The Tuft & Needle Mattress

Of all the mattresses we’ll talk about here, the Tuft & Needle the one you’re most likely to have heard of.

Thanks to a recent deal to merge with longtime mattress giant Serta, Tuft & Needle is ready to become the single largest sleep company in the world!

So,

what’s the mattress that brought them this much success?

Tuft & Needle’s classic mattress is composed of a combination of high-grade polyurethane foam (or “polyfoam”) and memory foam.

This makes for good comfort, breathability, and durability.

Tuft & Needle is a highly trusted name, and this mattress is about as cheap as you can hope to go without starting to compromise on quality.

The one serious disadvantage to this mattress is that it can sometimes take a little while to get it broken in, so you might find it a little too firm at first.

The Nectar Sleep Mattress

The Nectar Sleep mattress is another solid option to consider.

Its materials are about as good as anything else you’re likely to find, and it also comes with a pretty nice price tag.

At the topmost layer of this mattress you’ll find the cooling, heat-wicking Tencel quilting designed to maximize air circulation.

This sits directly on top of two layers of gel-infused memory foam.

Although gel can’t stave off body heat forever, it does take substantially longer to heat up than traditional memory foam.

This makes for cooler, more restful sleep!

Finally, the Nectar Sleep finishes with a layer of memory foam and breathable base layer.

All in all, the Nectar mattress allows for a comfortable sleeping temperature, while still offering all the same benefits memory foam is known for.

It’s also a bit bouncier than a lot of other memory foam brands out there, which a lot of people find enjoyable.

The Layla Mattress

The Layla mattress another serious Amazon contender.

This is another memory foam product, and like the Nectar and Tuft & Needle, it comes with its fair share of tech benefits.

At the topmost layer, you’ll find three inches of copper-infused memory foam designed for enhanced heat transfer as well as luxurious comfort.

Under this come various levels of support foam designed to maximize airflow while providing a powerful support base.

Layla also incorporates a cooling gel into its memory foam that will keep you nice and cozy as you drift to sleep!

The Zinus 12 Inch

Finally, there’s the Zinus 12 inch “Green Tea” mattress.

We include this mattress because of its extreme popularity on Amazon right now, its generally positive reviews on that site, and its exceptionally low price tag.

This is yet another memory foam product, this time built with a triple layer

When you get into the $200 to $300 price range, however, it’s pretty much impossible to find a mattress that meets all the criteria you could hope for.

While the Zinus does perform pretty well for most people, it’s not the most durable of products, and many buyers complain about a strong chemical smell that lasts for weeks or even months.

It may also be too soft for certain kinds of sleepers.

So while the Zinus certainly is a great option if you’re looking for a real economy model, it’s simply not possible to find genuinely premium products in this price range.

How Much Do They Cost?

These products all come with some pretty realistic pricing.

Zinus is by far the cheapest of the bunch, at a mere $258.30 for a queen-sized product.

The other products are a bit pricier, although perhaps not as expensive as you might expect.

The Tuft & Needle mattress comes in at $595, while the Nectar mattress is just a bit behind, at $699.

Finally, the Layla rounds us off at $899.

Thanks to the benefits of online shopping, these prices are substantially lower than what you could expect to find in pretty much any brick-and-mortar store!

Warranties and Trial Periods

In addition to their comfortable pricing and innovative designs, all the products we’ve been covering also come with some pretty impressive trial periods and warranties.

The Tuft & Needle mattress, for instance, is backed up by a solid 100-day trial period, where the company will let you return your product to them without you having to spend a cent.

It’s also equipped with a limited 10-year warranty.

The Nectar mattress supplies you with an even more impressive 365-day trial period, as well as a true “forever” warranty if you ever discover any production flaws.

The Layla has another lifetime warranty, as well as a 120-day risk-free trial.

Finally, the Zinus comes with a 100-day trial period and a 10-year warranty.

The Final Verdict

Every single mattress we have mentioned in this article comes with an entire cheer squad of enthusiastic users who couldn’t have been happier with their purchase.

With so many top-quality products to deal with, though, it can sometimes be hard to figure out which product your really want to settle on!
