Stomach sleeping can lead to serious problems without proper support. While sleeping on your back or side allows your spinal cord to properly align on most mattresses, stomach sleepers are at much greater risk of back pain and spinal issues.
Stomach sleeping creates a great deal of pressure on your thoracic and lumbar spine, and many stomach sleepers wake up with aches and pains that just won’t go away.
